HMI Monitoring System

thumb

The hardware or software through which an operator interacts with a controller. An HMI can range from a physical control panel with buttons and indicator lights to an industrial PC with a colour graphics display running dedicated HMI software. Human machine interfaces (HMIs) are used as an operator control panel to PLCs, RTUs, and in some cases directly to IEDs. HMIs replace manually activated switches, dials, and other controls with graphical representations of the control process and digital controls to influence that process.
